WHY ARROWS?

When we revisit these questions:

“What do You see in our children, God?"

"What is Your perspective, Your plans, Your purpose in them?”

The Bible could not be any clearer.

God can actually associate our children with ANYTHING in this world: eagles, trees, stars… but in Psalms 127, God identifies them as ARROWS.

WHY ARROWS?

First off, arrows are small but powerful. A little trip down the history lane shows us that arrows were THE MOST critical weapon in the ancient army. Back then, soldiers did not ride on robust military tanks, carrying AK-47s and grenade launchers like what they do today. These warriors went to war ON FOOT! On their lucky days, they rode on horses or chariots. They need solid weaponry to be launched far into the enemy line to attack, push back, and achieve victory. In the hands of skilled archers, bows and arrows were simple yet effective. In the Battle of Crecy in 1346, thousands of English archers launched 42,000 arrows per minute! They won that battle by a large margin.

Mama warriors, the truth is, our children are not only our most prized possessions; they’re our most POWERFUL WEAPON. One day, they’re going to be launched into this world, and they are going to push back darkness and claim victory for the Kingdom of God! Arrows travel far, much farther than we could ever go. With this vision from God embedded in our hearts, we cannot be discouraged or fearful at the fact that our children will grow up in such a crazy time in this world. They are MADE for such a time like this.

Pastor Alex Cravens from Arkansas wrote this piece so beautifully, “Don’t be scared for your children, but be honored that God chose YOU to parent the generation that is facing the biggest challenges of our lifetime. RISE UP to the challenge. God isn’t scratching His head wondering what He’s going to do with this mess of a world. He has an ARMY He’s raising up to drive back the darkness and make Him known all over the earth.”

Lastly, my sisters in Christ, please remember this truth:

"We are never randomly placed. We are STRATEGICALLY positioned".

God entrusted our children into our hands intentionally, with a purpose.

We are CHOSEN to be their mamas. God thinks that we HAVE what it takes to train, sharpen, and prepare them to win this unseen battle.

The good news is: we will win this battle. God Himself promised so.

Deuteronomy 20:4 “For the LORD your God is the One who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, and to give you victory.”
