A Parent Testimony | "Revival Begins at Home" Workshop
August 20, 2026
“Sign in, Ci.”
Right at 7:30 PM on Thursday, August 6, 2026, my sister texted me. I had just arrived home and hadn’t even taken a shower yet, but I was fully aware that the joint prayer Zoom for IFGF Parent Pray was happening. I was so excited that day because I’ve known the speaker since before her last name changed to Sukadi. Back when to me, she was simply my sister’s friend. After that, she became a mother whose parenting tips I loved following on Facebook, and an author whose book I bought because it was absolute fire. It was only that day I found out she had become a pastor.
So exciting.
When the Zoom started, I thought about showering first. But it was already Joy’s turn to speak. Something inside my heart told me I couldn’t miss a single word she said. So, for the first time in my life, I brought my laptop into the bathroom. Showering while listening to the opening of her sharing—not a single word could be missed, period.
My instinct was spot on. As Joy spoke, her words stirred up something deep within me. By seemingly pure “coincidence,” her sharing aligned perfectly with my own quiet time, but what she brought out unlocked it on a much deeper level. I was so mesmerized that I felt deeply grateful I had already signed up for Saturday’s event, where Joy would be sharing longer and deeper—not just for 30 minutes.

At the event, the same thing happened. I sat in the second row, only because the front row is usually reserved for the pastors. It was actually a bit embarrassing—being tall and sitting near the front, blocking other people's view. But hey, who told them to pick seats in the back, right? Hahaha...
The moment the mic was handed to Joy, something within me leaped out. I had to fight so hard to hold back my tears. I mean, she hadn't even started talking yet—crying right then would make me look crazy! But honestly, I could sense the presence of God, the anointing, or whatever you name it—even as I’m typing this—oozing out from this lady. From the top of her head to the soles of her feet. I could feel it all right from my seat, which, despite being near the front, was still a bit of a distance from her.
I knew this was someone who truly knew what she was talking about. Not just theory, but a real walk with God—one that actually treads the path and leaves footprints behind. Someone who truly knows how to bring the Kingdom of Heaven down to touch the earth.
She knows exactly what she is talking about because she walks and lives in it.
As I listened to Joy’s journey fighting for her children—moving from anxiety to a walk with God, from fear and panic to surrender and strategic prayers from Heaven, from being a Worrier to a Warrior—tears streamed down my face endlessly. One huge perk of sitting in the second row was having a table right in front of me stocked with drinks AND tissues. So at least I was safe from dehydration and a messy face!
What she shared that day truly empowered us, awakened us, and gave us all a jolt: We are at war. Whether we like it or not, whether we admit it or not, there are evil forces lurking to steal, kill, and destroy. And they are relentless. So be strong and courageous, and fight for your children, your family, and your lineage that hasn't even been born yet.
She reminded us that we are never alone in this war. God is with us.
She taught us how to pray strategically.
She offers insightful and practical parenting guidance for each age group. Thanks to her, my rule of thumb when dealing with my 16yo right now is "This isn't the hill I wanna die on." Nope. Not today.
She showed us the power of intercession coming from those who hold authority over the kids: Parents.
She demonstrated how God moves on behalf of His children through prayer, sharing testimony after testimony.
She made me feel less helpless. More hopeful. A fire from heaven burning inside.
I am truly grateful to have listened to Joy not just once, but twice. And when I found out that this entire event happened because of my sister and her friend, I felt so proud of them.
There were so many wonderful things Joy shared, but here are three I can recite without even opening my notes:
We are at war. We are born into warfare.
We are like a garden sprinkler. No matter how hard we try, there will always be spots we miss. But God is like rain from heaven—and when the rain falls, not a single spot is left untouched. Remember that our children are taught by the Lord, not just by us.
And this is by far my favorite: “Let’s park the Ark here.” Let’s park the presence of God right here. In our children’s rooms. In their lives. And just like the story of Dagon, wherever the presence of God abides, every idol and unclean spirit must bow and clear out. The Holy Spirit does not share a room. So swag!

As the session wrapped up, Ps. Daniel prayed for doors to open for Joy to bring this message to different parts of the world. I agreed 100%.
Because truth be told, parenting is often a lonely journey. There is no specific school or exact formula for it like math. One plus one doesn't always equal two. Life isn't always a neat square or a circle, or even a recognizable shape. Sometimes it looks more like a tangled ball of yarn that you no longer know how to unravel.
And sometimes, there are things you can't even express to the people closest to you—that heavy feeling that says, nobody will get it anyway.
So I say Amen to Ps. Daniel's prayer. And to every parent, future parent, or whoever you are—wherever God opens doors for this lady to deliver this message—I want to pass on the exact words my dear sister sent me that day:
Sign in, please.
You really, really, really need to hear this.
God bless.
