Still thinking about this Parenting Masterclass by Joy 🤍

Honestly, I learnt SO much. Not just parenting tips, but so many things that made me STOP and think about how I’m actually parenting my kids.

I love how Joy didn’t just throw out claims or advice, but backed everything with so much biblical truth, facts, research and practical strategies. So many “ohhh… THATS RIGHT! What have i been doing?!” moments for me. 

One thing that really stayed with me was “pick your battles: external, internal, eternal.”

How easy it is for us as parents to spend so much energy on the external things (grades, mess, behaviour, gadgets, etc) that by the time we get to the things that really matter, like their character, integrity, heart and relationship with God, we have no more bandwidth left.

"Our one job is to lead our children to Jesus." 

I also loved the reminder that fire is caught, not taught. Our kids are watching how we live, how we speak, how we react when we’re stressed, how we handle failures… not just listening to what we teach them.

So many practical things I can actually take home and practice, not just listen, feel inspired during the seminar, then go home and forget everything I learnt. 

And probably the biggest reminder for me — I don’t have to parent by my own strength. His grace is more than enough for all my limitations.

Thank you Joy for pouring so much into this. You really equipped and encouraged us as parents, and reminded me again that if we want to see revival, it really does start at home. 🤍
